Full course description
Wine, Witches & Wicked Women
Power, Persecution & the Women Who Wouldn’t Behave
Throughout history, women who challenged power structures were often labeled dangerous, defiant...or worse.
In this lively Women’s History Month brunch experience, we’ll explore the stories of women who were accused, misunderstood, silenced, or scandalized - from the Salem Witch Trials to outspoken reformers, mystics, healers, and rule-breakers who refused to stay quiet.
Together, we’ll unpack:
-
How accusations of “witchcraft” often masked fear of independent women
-
The role of gender, religion, and politics in historical persecution
-
How folklore and myth shaped cultural narratives about powerful women
-
The modern reclamation of the “witch” as a symbol of resilience and autonomy
But this isn’t a lecture; it’s a gathering.
Held at Fudio, a woman-owned local business, this Women’s History Month brunch pairs thoughtful conversation with curated wine tastings, brunch bites, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The setting itself becomes part of the celebration: supporting women’s entrepreneurship while honoring women’s stories.
This experience blends history, storytelling, scholarship, and celebration. It’s about honoring women who shaped culture in bold, complicated, and sometimes controversial ways — and raising a glass to their legacy.
Come curious. Come reflective. Come ready to toast the women who changed the world.
