Haunted Southeast Missouri: Stories from Our Own Backyard (October 14)

Southeast Missouri is filled with historic buildings, river towns, old cemeteries, unexplained encounters, and stories that have been passed down for generations.

In this session of Weird Wednesdays After Dark, we’ll explore some of the region’s best-known hauntings alongside lesser-known local tales. We’ll look at the history behind the legends, ask which stories are rooted in documented events, and examine how folklore changes as it gets retold.

Why do certain places attract ghost stories? Which details can be traced to real history? And why do some stories refuse to disappear?
